Love After Love

Thinking about what to write in March, at least in the northen hemispherethe the spring month which has lately gifted with a magical solar eclipse, I wish to share a very special poem.

Read it with special care, and try to capture the deep meaning of it. For me, it excellently expresses the power relation between EGO and BEING, pointing out the fundamental love that we deserve to ourselves. It is a poem to bring out of oblivion our most essential part. I hope you enjoy it.

Copia de Amor dp del Amor

The time will come

when, with elation,

you will greet yourself arriving

at your own door, in your own mirror

and each will smile at the other’s welcome,

and say: Sit here. Eat.

You will love again the stranger who was yourself.

Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart

to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored

for another, who knows you by heart.

Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, the photographs, the desperate notes,

peel your own image from the mirror.

Sit. Feast on your life.
